Nigeria: Increasing profit for Continental Re

Continental Re posted a 150% growth in its 2015 result. The company's net profit after tax went from 855 million NGN (4.33 million USD) in 2014 to 2.142 billion NGN (10.85 million USD) in 2015.

During the current year, the gross written premiums of the Nigerian reinsurer increased by 20% to settle at 19.738 billion NGN (100 million USD).

Continental Re put these excellent results down to the development strategy implemented in recent years.
The company purchases business from seven regional hubs spread across the African continent: Lagos (Nigeria), Douala (Cameroon), Abidjan (Cote d'Ivoire), Nairobi (Kenya), Tunis (Tunisia), Johannesburg (South Africa) and Gaborone (Botswana).
