Indemnification limits will be revised upwards

Motor insurers in the COMESA region are hoping to raise the compensation limit of the yellow card from 10 000 USD to 15 000 USD. The yellow card, the same as the green card in Europe and the orange card in the Arab countries, was first introduced in 1987. It is delivered by 190 companies scattered around 13 different countries. The yellow card enables motorists to drive in the countries of Eastern Africa with a unique motor insurance document.
