Independent brokers in Lebanon: 2018 turnover
In Lebanon, the 96 independent brokers reported 234.2 million USD of premiums in 2018, a marginal increase of 0.6% compared to 2017. This category of intermediaries excludes the agents affiliated with commercial banks and those working with a specific insurance company.
According to the survey conducted by Byblos Bank's Economic Research and Analysis Department, the brokers in question generated 13.7% of the total written premiums in 2018 compared to 14.1% in 2017.
The top five intermediaries alone reported 80.8 million USD in premiums, that is 35% of the total for all brokers. For their part, the top 10 recorded 122.5 million USD in turnover, i.e 52% of the premiums collected by this profession in 2018.
