Africa: Insurance in countries with the continent’s richest inhabitants

AfrAsia Bank has published its annual report on income in African countries. The study refers to an individual's net assets (property, cash, equities, business interests).

statistiquesAccording to the study, the total individual wealth held on the continent amounts to 2 300 billion USD. About 920 billion USD, or 40%, is held by millionaires.

The average African individual has net assets of nearly 2 000 USD (wealth per capita). The continent is home to 24 billionaires with net assets of 1 billion USD or more, 7420 multimillionaires with net assets of more than 1 million USD.

Atlas magazine focuses on the insurance situation in the top ten African countries with the wealthiest inhabitants of the continent.
