Insurance: the protection gap could reach 1 867 billion USD in 2025
The gap between economic and insured losses is likely to widen according to PwC, a specialist in auditing, accounting and consulting.
The said gap would go from 1 386 billion USD in 2020 to 1 867 billion USD in 2025, that is, a 35% increase according to the firm's new report.
The gap will be largest in Asia, with a 934 billion USD deficit in coverage. Next will be North America (398 billion USD), Europe (334 billion USD), Latin America (180 billion USD) and finally Africa and the Middle East (121 billion USD).
