Insurers and reinsurers of the MENA region exhibit resilience

AM Best has revealed that despite the period of uncertainty that followed the Arab spring, the ratings of the insurers and reinsurers in the MENA region have been relatively maintained during the last twelve months. This finding has been established by a panel of insurers in the countries of the area under study. During the period of the survey, the number of companies rated has grown from 25 to 35, that is, a 40% leap. In general, ratings of financial soundness and credit have remained unchanged but their evolution outlook varied on the case per case basis.
