Belt and Road Initiative: Insurers and the New Silk Road
A new platform kick-started by Hong Kong Insurance Authority was unveiled at the first Asian Insurance Forum in Hong Kong.
Named “Belt and Road Insurance Facilitation Exchange” (BRIEF), the platform has been designed to help Chinese and international insurance companies seize the opportunities offered by the "New Silk Road".
It should be reminded that "The New Silk Road" is a project launched by China in 2013 with the objective of building a set of maritime links and railway tracks between China and Europe via Kazakhstan, Russia, Belarus, Poland, Germany, France and the United Kingdom.
More than 60 countries have been called upon to create interconnection in specific areas such as politics, infrastructure, trade and financial integration.
