Insurers are not sufficiently involved in new technologies

The 41st Conference of the African Insurance Organization (AIO), which took place in early June in Kigali, addressed the topic of new technologies. The first finding referred to the reluctance of insurance companies to use the mobile network in order to market insurance products outside the cities.

he second finding pertained to the lack of initiative by African insurers to enter partnerships with local banks, microfinance institutions, non-governmental organizations or government institutions.
Finally, African insurers are called upon to use satellite images to facilitate compensation of certain agricultural claims.
