Cameroon: Insurers as a substitute for the State in collecting taxes levied on vehicles

Stamp duty levied on cars shall be collected by insurance companies as of 1st, January 2017.

Owners of four-wheeled cars along with engine-powered mopeds or three-wheeled vehicles will be required to settle this tax directly with the insurers when underwriting their motor third party liability policies.

No road taxes shall be issued. The insurance certificate will be used as a proof of payment in case of control.
