Egypt: Insurers’ profits rising by 31.25% in one year

Egyptian insurers have reported rising profits by 31.25% at 2.1 billion EGP (274 million USD) in the course of the year 2015 closed, compared to 1.6 billion EGP (224 million USD) a year earlier. The premiums generated by the market amount to 16.2 billion EGP (2.1 billion USD), that is, 12.9% more than the ones reaped by June 30, 2014. Nearly 97% of the underwritings have been generated by direct insurance. The total amount of compensations has witnessed a 20% leap at 8.8 billion EGP (1.1 billion USD).
