Insurers subscribe to the national bond loan program

According to the minister of economy, 955 million TND (586 million USD) were collected during the third national bond loan taken by Tunisia since independence. Initial estimates are likely to be exceeded especially since the deadline for subscription has been extended to June 27 for natural persons. This loan is designed to reinforce the State’s resources as the latter does not have enough funds to complete its budget.

Banks have contributed by nearly 44% of the amount collected, 400 million TND (245 million USD). The contribution of insurance companies amounted to 99 million TND (61 million USD), that of the collective investment bodies attained 77 million TND (47 million USD), while other companies have subscribed to the loan by up to 326 million TND (200 million USD).
