Internationalisationb of the Brown Card system

Brown card: The 24th general assembly of the brown card system Cedeao held in Dakar from October 23 to 26, 2007, has called for the internationalisation of brown card extension to all motorists imposing a minimum 1 to 2% additional premium as well as the institution of partnership conventions with the other systems of traffic in the rest of the continent. The move is designed to harmonise claim indemnification procedures in terms of accident and valuation/expertise reports.

The different commissions are requiring that transactions be, henceforth, be made in US dollars in all national offices. The insurance companies and their supervising ministries/authorities are contributing to the setting of 174 000 currency units before December 31, 2009.
