Introduction of two insurance obligations

Following the 2011 contract program, the authorities have introduced two new compulsory insurance schemes: contractor’s all risks and decennial liability. Between 2009 and 2011, the compensations paid by insurers totaled nearly745 million MAD (87 million USD) for 7700 accidents reported in these classes of business.
These plans apply to residential buildings of at least four floors or of over 800 m2 in built area and the premises for industrial or commercial use of more than 400 m² in covered area.
