Iranian ship owners renew relations with P & I Cubs

Following the lifting of the economic sanctions imposed on Iran, several Iranian shipping companies have re-established relations with associations of international maritime insurers - the Protection and Indemnity Clubs (P & I).

Since this merger, numerous partnership and insurance contracts have been concluded. The Iranian shipowner IRISL has therefore underwritten an insurance cover with the Steamship Mutual. A memorandum of understanding on cooperation and training has also been signed between the Islamic Republic of Iran Shipping Lines (LIS) and the Norwegian SKULD P & I Club. A total of 50 Iranian ships have purchased a marine insurance cover from the P & I Clubs.
