IRDA has proposed minimum indemnification

The Indian insurance commission, IRDA, has asked insurers to set a minimum death benefit. This proposal provides beneficiaries with a benefit tenfold the equivalent of the annual premiums or at 105% of total premiums paid till the date of death. Indemnification will, therefore, be related to the payment of premium and no longer to sums insured.
