Kenya Re intends to expand its operations in the south of Africa

Kenya Re has announced the implementation of an ambitious expansion program in the south of the African continent.

After the successful launch of a branch in West Africa, the Kenyan reinsurer is keen to establish offices in Botswana, Mozambique, Zimbabwe and Zambia. The company is making an after tax profit of 33.7 million USD, up by 46.3% for the year 2012. Investment-drawn products jumped by 87%. Gross written premiums have attained 7 944 million KES (92.8 million USD), up by 20% compared to 2011.
