Kenya Re settles in Zambia

As part of its expansion strategy, Kenya Re has opened a new subsidiary in Zambia. Operational since December 2015, the Lusaka structure serves as a platform for the development of the Kenyan reinsurer in Austral Africa: Botswana, Namibia, Lesotho, Swaziland and South Africa.

Kenya Re created its first reinsurance subsidiary in May 2014 in Abidjan (Côte d'Ivoire).

The 2015 results confirmed the company's policy targeting the emerging African markets. The turnover reported in 2015 was of 13.06 billion KES (129 million USD), up by 12.8% compared to 2014 while the net profit amounted to 3.5 billion KES (35 million USD) which represents a 13% increase in one year.
