Last November floods leave behind a heavy bill

According to the Association of British Insurers (ABI), the damages triggered last November by the floods in northwest England have been estimated at sums ranging between 50 million GBP (82.5 million USD) and 100 million GBP (165 million USD). This cost remains much inferior to the 250 million GBP (430 million USD) losses caused by the Carlisle floods in 2005, or to the 3 billion GBP (5.9 billion USD) lost in the summer floods of 2007.
