Lebanese life insurance generating more premiums in 2015

The 34 Lebanese life insurers reported a turnover of 471.1 million USD in 2015, a 6.2% increase in comparison with 2014. With 82.2 million USD in premiums, Metlife Alico remains at the top of this business with a market share of 17.4% compared to 17.7% one year earlier.

The company Bancassurance comes in second position with 15.8% in market shares and 74.6 million USD in premiums followed by Allianz SNA (13.5%), Adir (8.7%) and LIA (8.3%). These five insurers account for 63.7% of the life turnover in 2015.

It is worth noting that the company Fajr Al-Gulf has terminated its operations during the considered period.
