Bahrain, Legal & General Gulf getting renamed

The Bahraini life insurer Legal & general Gulf Insurance is henceforth named Al Hilal Life. Its subsidiary, Legal & General Gulf Takaful has also been renamed.

The latter has been called Al Hilal Takaful. Such changes, due to come into effect as of April 1, 2016, come following the takeover by Ahli United Bank of a 50% stake in Legal & General Gulf.

The bank will now detain the entirety of the insurance group’s shares since the other 50% stake is already owned by it.
