Life insurance in France: 6.5 billion EUR net outflow in 2020

According to provisional figures published by the French Insurance Federation (FFA), the payments made by savers on life insurance contracts in December 2020 exceed the sums paid by insurers to their customers by 550 million EUR (675.5 million USD). This net inflow is a first since February 2020.

However, this late renewed interest does not prevent the life market from posting a net outflow of 6.5 billion EUR (7.9 billion USD) for the whole year of 2020 against a net inflow of 21.9 billion EUR (24.5 billion USD) in 2019.
