Lower motor premium for dashcam users

dashcamIn France, more and more insurers are offering premium reductions to policyholders whose cars are equipped with a dashcam. These discounts can be up to 15%.

The dashcam is a camera that records all the vehicle's activity on the road, even at a standhill. According to insurers, this equipment would encourage drivers to better comply with the highway code, which would result in a reduction of loss experience. In addition, the presence of a camera would decrease the insurance fraud. In Britain, nearly 1.2 million vehicles are already equipped with dashcams compared to only 30 000 in France.

According to the officials of the electronics company Nextbase, which markets the dashcam, France, with a potential of 100 000 cameras per year could reduce part of its gap over the next few years.
