Mandatory health insurance "Dhamani"

CMA OmanThe Capital Market Authority (CMA) provides more details regarding its project of compulsory health insurance called "Dhamani". Being mandatory for private sector employees, expatriates and foreign visitors, this insurance covers, among other things, 2.1 million private sector employees, their spouses, children under 21 and dependents.

Coverage is capped at 3 000 OMR (7 775 USD) per year. The implementation date of "Dhamani" has not yet been set. It partly depends on the readiness of employers and the capacity of health facilities to cope with a stream of patients.
