March 2017, a severely-affected period

According to a report published by Impact Forecasting, a research center of Aon Benfield, the weather events that took place during the month of March are likely to cause 2 billion USD in insured losses.

For just the 6-10 March period, economic losses amounted to 1.7 billion USD while insured losses reached 1.2 billion USD. These losses are accounted for by tornadoes, hail storms, and strong wind gusts that hit the Midwest and South East regions of the country last March.
