Appointment of Michel Khalaf, president of MetLife in charge of US business and EMEA, to the position of President and CEO of the American Insurance Company. Mr. Khalaf succeeds Steven Kandarian.

Of Lebanese descent, this engineer by education, holder of an MBA in finance from Syracuse University (USA) joined the American Life Insurance Company (Alico) in 1996. He held several management positions including that of first general manager of Alico’s operation in Egypt.

After the acquisition in 2010 of Alico by MetLife, Michel Khalaf was appointed president of MetLife for the EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) zone. In 2017, he was assigned to new duties and also became responsible for American business.

This appointment will take effect on May 1, 2019.
