Microinsurance takes off in Egypt

According to the Egyptian Financial Regulatory Authority (FRA), 513 000 microinsurance contracts were underwritten in 2017.

The premiums generated by the class of business amounted to 50 million EGP (2.82 million USD) during the year under review. These figures reflect the growing interest of Egyptians in microinsurance.

It should be noted that the law governing this activity was promulgated during 2016.
