Minor motor claim reports to be handed over to insurers

accidentThe plan to hand over the reporting of minor motor claims to insurers is expected to take effect on 21 July 2021. Under the new procedure, insurance companies are required to set up a claim-management mechanism approved by the General Department of Traffic.

Insurers will now handle low severity accidents without having to resort to the General Department of Traffic, which currently handles the entirety of road accidents.

The aim is to clear the roads of vehicles with minor accidents and to strengthen the role of the insurance sector in protecting the insured.
