Moody's upgrades the outlook for non life French market

Moody's has raised the French non life insurance market’s outlook from "negative" to "stable".

The rating agency justifies its decision by the increase in tariffs and the decline in the loss experience, particularly in the motor class of business. It is thus more confident about the evolution of non life insurance in France for the coming months.

Moody's has nevertheless tempered its evaluation, "the year 2018 has been one of the driest ever recorded in France.” This could lead to a rise in the number of compensations related to drought and natural disasters as indicated by the rating agency in its press release.

Regarding the French life insurance market, the "stable" outlook has been maintained.
