Moroccan bancassurance market in 2020

According to the Supervisory Authority of Insurance and Social Welfare (Acaps), bancassurance recorded a turnover of 13.75 billion MAD (1.5 billion USD) in 2020, a slight increase of 0.4% compared to 2019.

The activity is dominated by the life and capitalization classes of business which registered 13.1 billion MAD (1.45 billion USD) of premiums, that is, a market share of 95.3%.

The other activities, assistance, credit, health and bodily injury, account for 4.7% of bancassurance emissions, totaling 648.3 million MAD (71.9 million USD).

Bancassurance represents 29.7% of the Moroccan insurance market in 2020 against 28.6% in 2019.
