Motor claims decrease in Morocco

Assurance automobile TunisieWith 28 394 claims, the rate of bodily injuries recorded during the first five months of 2020 declined by 30.79%. The number of deadly accidents has also decreased by 29.28%: 873 fatalities have been recorded among 802 accidents, that is -32.74% compared to the same period last year. The number of the seriously injured persons decreased by 36.89% and the number the slightly injured decreased by 32.85%.

The low motor loss experience recorded during lockdown has reduced the expenses of insurers whose underwritings decreased in the first half of 2020.

According to the Supervisory Authority of Insurance and Social Welfare (ACAPS), the market’s written premiums dropped by 8.6% in February, 13% in March, 12% in April and 4.7% in May.
