Motor insurance, obligation to insure customers without discrimination

Following the numerous difficulties encountered by young drivers in insuring their vehicles, the economy ministry has reiterated the obligation issued to the insurers to deliver motor third party liability policy to all customers without discrimination based on age, gender or experience.

Sultan Bin Saeed Al Mansouri, minister of economy has nevertheless added that some rejections are authorized in the case of drivers not complying with road traffic regulations and holding a rather compromising claim record. Insurers tend to reject regularly drivers below 25 years of age or confront them with exorbitant rates. A complaint may now be filed to the authorities in this regard.
