Munich Re is intent on increasing its premiums' volume in Africa

Munich Re has said it is able to reach 618 million USD in premiums in Africa during the three to four years to come, that is, a 30% increase. The company is expecting the market to be supported by the several infrastructure projects of the high-growth countries and by those dotted with energetic resources, especially Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya, Angola. South Africa today accounts for 80% of the turnover realized by the company which has been active all over the continent. Its main competitors are Swiss Re, Hannover Re, Africa Re and Scor, with the first two being active in South Africa and the last two in the rest of the continent.
