Munich Re: Positive results for the 2nd semester 2019

Munich ReWith 992 million EUR (1 127.58 million USD) of profit for the second half of 2019, Munich Re has recorded its best results in four years. The German reinsurer slightly exceeds the 723 million EUR (842 million USD) recorded during the same period in 2018. It is mainly thanks to the decrease of natural disasters that such a result could be achieved.

During the same period of 2018, the operating results of 1.57 billion EUR (1.78 billion USD) have witnessed a significant increase of 57%.

The decreasing claims which exceed 10 million EUR (11.37 million USD) have totalized 202 million EUR (230 million USD) throughout the aforementioned period of 2019 compared to 605 million EUR (704.7 million USD) in 2018.

These motivating results go hand in hand with the objectives of Munich Re for 2019. The company has indeed targeted a net profit of 2.5 billion EUR (2.84 billion USD) and a turnover of 49 billion EUR (55.7 billion USD).
