NAICOM is expecting brokers to exhibit more commitment

Nigeria’s National Insurance Commission (NAICOM) has publicly expressed its dissatisfaction with insurance brokers. It blames them for their lack of commitment as regards the important reforms conducted for two years and designed to trigger more initiatives on their part. The simplification of brokers’ license procedure is among the legislative changes that were carried out.
NAICOM regrets that such a move did not result in the emergence of brokers outside big city centers. The measure facilitating recourse to brokers in the field of energy has not been harnessed by the business, either.
