Natural disasters: the year 2016 seems to be particularly costly

A report by Munich Re, made public on July 12, 2016, costs of natural disasters borne by reinsurers in the first half of 2016 amounted to 27 billion USD. This amount was 19 billion USD during the same period in 2015.

With 3 800 deaths, the death toll however proved to be five times lighter than that recorded during the first six months of 2015.
