Nearly half of the residents have no insurance against most dreaded diseases

According to a survey commissioned by Friends Provident International, approximately 48% of the residents in the United Arab Emirates are not covered against serious diseases. Roughly 40% of those individuals not having such coverage, justify their choice by the cost deemed exorbitant. Nearly 20% abstained from coverage because the guarantee is not compulsory while the rest of the residents quizzed have claimed their inability to understand the concept. Most expatriates working in the country have this policy underwritten on their behalf by their employer.
