New distribution channels
The regulatory authorities are proceeding to a review of the insurance Code. This initiative is designed to allow the marketing of insurance products via the new distribution channels. The revision of the legislation will enable policyholders to underwrite policies at any authorized sales outlet: bank agency, supermarket, insurance broker, etc… The Association of Kenyan Insurers is hoping this move will help increase insurance penetration rate.
