New restrictions to curb the second wave of Covid-19 in Germany

ccovid-19 allemagneIn Germany, the second wave of Covid-19 was deadlier than the first. In December 2020, the country had 16 467 deaths caused by the coronavirus.

To remedy the deteriorating health situation, the government has decided to extend the restrictions. Daycare centers, schools and non-essential businesses will remain closed until at least 31 January 2021.

Two other stricter measures also came into effect. The first is a restriction of travel within a 15-kilometer radius around residents' homes in several districts, mainly in the east of the country. The second is a ban on having more than one guest in the home. To date, the threshold has been set at five.
