NIC results

Two years after its privatisation, National Insurance Corporation of Uganda (NIC) has been reporting good results in a stagnant market. The premium volume amounts to 4.5 million USD in 2006, that is, an 18% increase in comparison with 2005. Pre-tax profit amounts to 858 000 USD. In order to strengthen its position on the market, NIC plans on utilizing the postal distribution network and launching new agricultural insurance products.
