No insurance for expatriates on vacation outside the country

General Organization for Social Insurance (GOSI) announced that expatriates spending their holidays outside the country will no longer be entitled to social security coverage during their stay abroad.

Contributions will be suspended during this period, until expatriates return to Saudi Arabia, where protections are reactivated. Meanwhile, the minimum contribution of foreign employees earning a monthly salary comprised between 500 and 800 SAR (133 and 213 USD) will be revised upwards.

These measures will be in force as of 2015.
