Norwegian Air Shuttle cancels an order of 92 Boeing 737 MAX

aviation securityBoeing is facing challenges once again. Norwegian Air Shuttle has cancelled an order for 92 airplanes 737 MAX and five Dreamliner.

After unsuccessful negotiations with the manufacturer, the airline has also lodged a complaint against Boeing the damage caused by defects on the aforementioned models.

The grounding of the 737 MAX since May 2019 has created a crisis situation for the airlines. The latter are being impacted by delays in the delivery of aircraft already booked and the inability to use those currently grounded. Boeing has totally been unable to honour its commitments to its customers.

In addition, problems with the Rolls-Royce engines of another Boeing model: the Dreamliner 787, have been found.

On 1 July 2020, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has completed the certification tests for the 737 MAX, a crucial step towards relaunching the model in the air.
