Morocco: official launch of the new insurance supervisory authority (ACAPS)

The insurance and social security supervisory authority, (ACAPS), has been officially introduced in a ceremony held at Rabat on February 10, 2016. The new entity shall replace DAPS (the department of insurance and social security).

The establishment of the new entity will result in a qualitative leap in the regulation and supervision of the insurance business and social security in Morocco. The new public institution is an independent common law legal entity, enjoying financial autonomy. This independence is consistent with international standards and with the principles of the International Association of Insurance Supervisors (IAIS). Hassan Boubrik is the man in charge.
