Old Mutual extends to Africa

The insurer Old Mutual has identified several potential markets in Africa. Tanzania and Ghana top the list of the insurer’s targets. Old Mutual is already in Namibia, Kenya, Zimbabwe, Swaziland, Botswana, Malawi and in South Africa as well where it has reported only 3% of the group’s total profits. Old Mutual has seen his profits decline in 2011 to 1 536 million USD, compared to 1.7 billion USD in 2010. Gross earned premiums are on the rise at 5.5 billion USD for last year, against to 5.35 billion USD in 2010.
