Oman Insurance has made profits in 2009

Despite the turmoil which is affecting the country for more than a year, Oman Insurance, one of the leaders in the United Arab Emirates, has announced a net profit of 189 million AED (51.4 million USD) in 2009. The underwriting result has yielded a profit amounting to 317 million AED (86.3 million USD), that is, a 44% increase in comparison with 2008. The company is reporting a rise of its premiums volume which amounted to 2.34 billion AED (637 million USD), a 9.5% progression in comparison with the previous year.
