Only 2.25 million Nigerians have access to insurance

According to a study conducted in 2012, only 2.25 million Nigerians have access to insurance. This survey is designed to identify trends and measure the use of financial services in the country between 2008 and 2012. The study shows that 37.8 million Nigerians, representing 43% of the population, have access to financial services, only 2.25 million of whom have an insurance policy. In contrast, 34.9 million of them are totally excluded. This figure dropped by 10.5 million between 2008 and 2012.
