Outcry after the increase in motor premiums

Recent increases in motor insurance premiums have triggered a wave of protest from the insured. They are asking the regulator (SAMA) to act quickly to review the new rates they consider prohibitive.

The cause is, the motor third party liability insurance whose average premium is up by 143% in 2015, rising from 93 USD in 2014 to 227 USD in 2015.

For their part, insurers consider that these tariffs, developed after a study of the market, are fair.

They only follow the evolution of the market claims in which compensation for an accident victim has gradually increased from 26 000 USD to 80 000 USD.
