Pan-African Insurance/Reinsurance Journalism Awards 2019

The Pan-African Insurance/Reinsurance Journalism Awards, sponsored by Continental Reinsurance, will be held in Mauritius in April 2019. French and English speaking journalists in the print, broadcast or online media and specialised in insurance/reinsurance in Africa, can apply before November 30th, 2018 on the website https://www.continental-re.com/giving-back/journalism-awards/.

The works submitted shall be evaluated according to how the candidates ' articles have contributed to raise awareness and understanding the re/insurance sector in Africa. The 2019 contest jury will be composed of :

• Michael Wilson, President of the jury. Business & Finance Journalist, known for having animated economic and financial programmes broadcast on Sky, BBC, ITV, Fox News, Al-Jazeera and Arise Networks.
• Nadia Mensah-Acogny, Journalist, Forbes Afrique.
• Kenneth Igbomor, Market News Editor (West Africa), CNBC Africa West Africa.
• Gareth Stokes, Founder, Stokes Media Group. He won the Pan African Journalist of the Year award in 2017 Pan African Re/Insurance Journalism Awards.
• Jared Obuya, Communications Lecturer, Moi University.
• Shiamdass Appannah, Insurance Industry Expert, Founding Partner and Director/Consultant.
