Partnership between Sanlam Life Insurance and Maxcom Africa

A joint-venture between Sanlam Life Insurance and Maxcom Africa specialized in new technologies is going to be established. The future entity will be selling online insurance products, enabling customers to pay premiums by means of their smartphones.

This initiative is all the more important as 62% of Tanzanian people, that is about 20 million, have access to mobile telephony. Among them, only 100 000 people make recourse to electronic transactions to pay their contributions.

This figure is poised to rise substantially after this partnership comes to fruition, Khamis Suleiman, general manager of Sanlam Life Insurance, stated.
