Peasants affected by storms indemnified

Agriculture minister said on April 18 that the peasants who sustained damage because of the storms that hit the northern area of the country last winter will be indemnified. In this statement, which was released on air via a big radio station, the minister explained that the sums used for this purpose will originate from the national fund for the management of natural catastrophes. Furthermore, the insured farmers will receive compensations from their insurer. Bad weather was behind the decline in the production of potatoes by nearly 15%. In East Algeria, some livestock were decimated by torrential rain.
