sangA recent study, published by the journal Viruses suggests that people with blood type O are less likely to contract Covid-19. In collaboration with other specialists, the study was conducted by immunologist Jacques Le Pendu, research supervisor at Inserm and the University of Nantes.

According to the latest research, people with such blood type would be 10 to 33% more resilient to Covid-19. On the other hand, people with A blood type are believed to be 20% more likely to contract SARS-CoV-2.

It is in fact the presence of group A and B antibodies in the blood of people of type O that provides a more effective protection against the viruses.
